The Redline Without the 48-Hour Legal Wait
When a prospect sends back a redlined contract, two things happen: the AE waits 24–48 hours for legal to review every change, and legal spends most of that time on terms that match the team's pre-approved playbook anyway. The Contract Redline Agent reads the redlined document, applies the playbook's pre-approved positions automatically, and routes only the non-standard terms to legal — typically 1–3 issues per contract instead of 30.
How It Works
The agent triggers when a redlined contract is uploaded to the configured folder (or arrives via the configured email). It parses the document, identifies every change versus the team's master template, and matches each change against the playbook of pre-approved positions (acceptable, conditional, escalate). For acceptable and conditional terms, the agent drafts the team's pre-approved counter-language as a comment in the document. For escalate terms, it opens a Linear ticket in the legal team's queue with the specific clause, the prospect's redline, the playbook position, and the deal context.
Required Connections
- Google Drive or SharePoint — contract document source and destination
- Salesforce or HubSpot — deal context
- Linear or Jira — legal escalation queue
- Slack — AE notification when the redline pass completes
Scope Boundary
This agent does not approve terms — it applies pre-approved positions from the team's playbook. Anything outside the playbook escalates. The team's General Counsel owns the playbook content; this agent owns the artifact.
