What This Connection Does
Guide the user to Settings > Integrations > Insightly in their Demodesk dashboard at https://demodesk.com/manage/settings/integrations/insightly. The connection authenticates via your Insightly API key — retrieve it from Settings > API in Insightly and paste it into Demodesk's integration setup.
Once authenticated, the integration syncs contacts, organizations, opportunities, and projects between Demodesk and Insightly. Meeting attendees are matched to existing Insightly contacts by email, or new contacts are created with enriched profile data. Organizations are linked via Insightly's relationship structure. Every completed meeting creates an activity in Insightly's timeline, enriched with AI-generated meeting summaries and key moments. Opportunities linked to meetings log activities, making the complete sales history visible. You can configure project creation triggers — when a deal closes based on a qualified meeting, Demodesk can auto-create a project in Insightly with the meeting context as the project brief.
For configuration, navigate to "Workflow Settings" after connecting. Define which meeting outcomes trigger project creation. Set up custom field mappings between Demodesk properties and Insightly objects. Configure contact and organization matching rules. Enable activity logging. The sync runs in real time. Monitor deals and projects flowing through your Insightly pipeline in real-time.
Anti-Pattern: "Auto-Creating Projects Without Validation" Do not set up automatic project creation from every closed-won deal without careful review. This can create false starts, wasted projects, and confusion in your delivery queue. Only auto-create projects for deals that meet clear criteria (deal size, product type, customer segment). Review the first 10 auto-created projects with your delivery team before full automation.
