When to Use This Connection

Use this connection when the user:

  • Wants to connect their SAP Sales Cloud instance to Demodesk for automatic meeting data sync
  • Needs to set up territory and org hierarchy support for enterprise deployments
  • Wants meeting intelligence enriched with SAP Analytics Cloud for reporting
  • Needs to troubleshoot account or opportunity sync between Demodesk and SAP Sales Cloud
  • Wants to configure custom object mapping for industry-specific SAP configurations

What This Connection Does

Guide the user to Settings > Integrations > SAP Sales Cloud in their Demodesk dashboard at https://demodesk.com/manage/settings/integrations/sap-sales-cloud. The connection uses SAP's standard REST APIs with OAuth 2.0 authorization — the user authenticates with their SAP Sales Cloud admin credentials to establish the integration.

Once authenticated, Demodesk syncs accounts, contacts, opportunities, activities, tasks, and visits from your SAP Sales Cloud instance. Meeting data automatically flows into SAP, creating activities that are SAP-compliant in structure. The integration respects your org's territory and hierarchy setup, ensuring meetings are logged to the correct sales rep and business unit.

For enterprises with industry-specific SAP configurations, configure custom object mapping by navigating to the "Field Mapping" tab after connecting. Map Demodesk meeting properties (title, duration, summary, action items, attendees) to your custom SAP fields. The interface displays all available SAP object fields, including custom objects.

The sync also integrates with SAP Analytics Cloud, so meeting-enriched data can power reporting and deal intelligence dashboards. Set conflict resolution preferences for bi-directional sync: "SAP wins," "Demodesk wins," or "Most recent wins."

Anti-Pattern: "Ignoring Territory Configuration" Do not enable SAP Sales Cloud sync without first ensuring your Demodesk territory mapping aligns with your SAP org hierarchy. Meeting activities logged to the wrong territory in SAP create forecasting noise and confusion about deal ownership. Coordinate with your SAP admin to map Demodesk users to the correct SAP territories before enabling sync.
